The grapes are harvested by machine from 30 year old vines grown on clay-limestone and loamy soils, and sorted by machine and hand. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation with 20% in new oak and the remainder in tanks. The bouquet is impressive, with hints of kirsch and coffee with toast notes. The rounded attack leads to firm, powerful tannins and a warm finish.
Château de Lussac was founded in 1876 and has been owned by Madame G. Lavière Van Marderen and her husband Hervé since 2000.
The vineyards have been redesigned as well as the winemaking facilities, and today produce some of the finest wines in Saint-Emilion on clay and loamy soils. Highly skilled and meticulously managed, the vineyards produce high quality, top-quality wines. The grapes are pruned using the double Guyot method, with particular attention paid to the side that receives the morning sun, and branches are removed to ensure complete control.
